The Bandstand can tell many a story over the years, from music playing, lovers meeting and kids playing. Despite the changing backdrop of Dun Laoghaire town and the harbour over the years, it has remained constant and creates new stories for people passing and stopping on their walks or runs along the East Pier.
This landscape painting uses gaps and drips in the image to provide a sense of nostalgia or a feeling of a memory; hazy around the edges. It allows the viewer to create their own story while trying to fill in the blanks.
