Alongside her studio practice, Olena is a post-primary school qualified art teacher in Ireland and spent nine years teaching art at the International School in Kyiv, working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her teaching experience deeply informs her approach at SparkNet, where education, process, and confidence-building are central to how art is shared and taught.

Olena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Criticism from the National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture in Kyiv and has professional experience supporting exhibitions at leading cultural institutions, including Karas Gallery and the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex. Fluent in multiple languages, she brings an international outlook, strong organisational skills, and a calm, inclusive energy to everything she creates and curates.

Olena Kasian is a contemporary textile artist, educator, and creative director based in Dublin. Originally from Ukraine, she brings over a decade of international experience across art practice, gallery work, and arts education, with a strong belief that art should be both accessible and actively made.

Olena is a co-founder and director of SparkNet Ltd, where the focus is simple and direct: we sell art and do art classes. She plays a key role in the gallery’s day-to-day operations, artist support, exhibitions, and education programmes, helping to build a welcoming space for both practising artists and first-time art buyers.

She is also the owner and lead artist behind TuftedOK, an independent tufting practice specialising in bespoke textile artworks and sculptural rugs. Her tufted works are known for their bold colour palettes, strong graphic forms, storytelling and tactile presence, sitting comfortably between fine art and interior design. She has exhibited in Dublin, Tokyo and Paris.
